GageIn is a startup company for business news aggregation and relationship management. Our goal is to build the world’s richest and most accurate business database and to offer the best quality business news, analytical intelligence, and relationship management for business users. We just launched our website at www.gagein.com and will launch a Beta product in March 2010. We are expanding our team and excited to meet smart, energetic and self-motivated talents and genius in UI design and web development.
All of our founders have been entrepreneurs or have past experience working for start-ups in their early days, thrive in team work and have a great sense of humor. As a Web/UI Designer, you will work with our Chief Architect, marketing and peers in the technical team to define and implement the best user experience for our website and web application.
Requirements
5+ years of web/UI design experience with at least 3 years of experience in business services and/or consumer service website design
Working skills in CSS, Javascript, and PHP
Web/UI development experience a major plus
Dojo, JSP and WordPress experience a major plus
Understanding of human psychology, game mechanics, SEO, and conversion analytics a plus
Responsibilities
Work with marketing and engineering to design and develop company website, both creatively and pragmatically
Design and create UI for business web applications based on existing functional specs, page flows, page layouts, etc. In the mean time, be proactive in improving user experience based on experience and user feedback
Result-focus: Understand the trade-off between design elegance vs. design that works in real life. Comfortable using data to drive and prove the designs effectiveness, before and after the projects. Also open to acknowledge when data disproves the effectiveness of your design
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple requests/tasks at the same time
