Job Description
SkiClubZ.com, is looking for a developer with experience creating and maintaining scalable, dynamic Web sites. Experience working with Web video (uploading, encoding, and displaying) is preferred, but not required. This position is full-time and up to 2 people may be hired.
What is SkiClubZ.com?
SkiClubZ.com, a Zonline Sports Inc. project,is a complete training solution targeting competitive skiers. We bring value-adding Video Analysis Tools and easy-to-use Training Management Features together on our website. In the future we would also like to add an e-commerce section. SkiClubZ.com is currently in Beta and is only being used by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. Other ski clubs from the US and South America and the US National team have showed interest in using SkiClubZ.com once it becomes publicly available.
Locker Fee Business Model
Like a mandatory Locker Fee, the clubs using SkiClubZ.com charge their athletes $100/year online video fee. They keep $10 as sales commission and send the rest over to us. SkiClubZ.com is free for coaches and fans.
Skiing Goals
Our user goals within skiing are:
2010: 8,000 athletes
2011: 35,000 athletes + e-commerce
2012: 100,000 athletes
Long Term Goal
Starting in 2011 we would start replicating the concept in other sports. We envision each sport to have its independent website branded with the letter Z.
Required Technical Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience with PHP / MySQL / Linux
Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including Ajax and the Prototype framework)
Strong understanding of object-oriented design and programming
Experience with compatibility testing (cross-browser, W3C validation)
ActionScript and Web video (e.g. YouTube)experience are a plus

Work Environment
Our office is located at 3483 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. It is a single, 920sf, room with lots of natural light and high ceilings. Other than the classical appliances (microwave, coffee machine, etc), we have an espresso machine, an electric grill, a foosball table and a 50” plasma TV with Xbox and Wii. Our goal is to make the office a fun environment for all to work hard and play hard.
Other Perks
Due to the nature of our business we travel to ski resorts for “business” trips. In the future, as we expand to other sports, we also hope to provide our employees with tickets to other sporting events.
Compensation & Opportunity
Zonline Sports, founded in November, is a new start-up with a team consisting of only 4 people. Not only will you have a lot of freedom in leaving your imprint on the project but you will also get meaningful stock options.
Salary will be determined based on ability and will be paid every other week. If sales goals are met there will also be a bonus.
