Description

Hara is currently seeking a lead User Interface/User Experience Designer. You must have a positive attitude and thrive in a fast paced startup environment where change is the norm, and flexibility is essential. You will be expected to take rough ideas and high level concepts to create detailed, implementable mock-ups for development. Please be prepared to show a portfolio of your past work. This is a full-time position located in our Redwood City office.

Responsibilities

Translate audience, technology and other key product requirements into effective UI design

Design prototypes quickly and refine through an iterative approach

Develop stand-alone demos and prototypes to help articulate and envision functional requirements

Design user experiences that are implementable within technology design constraints

Write design documents and style guides to effectively communicate functional behavior to stakeholders

Work with the product development team to implement customer-centric solutions

Create, run, and analyze user-centered test regiments and incorporate these activities and resulting data into overall UX design processes

Innovate and find creative ways to meet requirements with an eye for detail and accuracy

Experience performing UX within an Agile SDLC or variation thereof

Partner with our dynamic multidisciplinary team and present new product ideas and strategies to the executive staff

Support the development team with creation of graphics and CSSs needed for the development process

Requirements

Experience working in a startup / fast-paced environment preferred

Ability to work well under pressure & within a team

In depth knowledge of SaaS, User Interface Design principles, Human Factors, User-Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability Testing Methodologies, web-industry standards and trends ( cross browser design), platform standards, software development process, and prototyping/design

At least 6 years of professional design experience preferably with a focus on creating rich enterprise applications

BA/BS or advanced degree preferred in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field or demonstrated comparable experience designing commercial software products

Knowledge of internationalization, localization, and accessibility (508) design considerations

Proficient using graphic imaging and design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, MS Visio, MS Visual Design Studio, etc.

Familiarity with Adobe Flex, JSF, JBOSS Rich Faces desired but not required
