Jazzee is expected to have a 1.0 release on June 1, 2010. We need you to implement Jazzee for dentistry and pharmacy so that it is live no later than noon on July 1, 2010 to accept applications and provide PDF reports of the data. If this milestone is complete, we may optionally ask you to write new code to provide more advanced workflow features and reporting to meet the needs of dentistry and pharmacy while working with the Jazzee open-source team to return these new contributions to the project. We have server resources and an SSL certificate ready now.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement leading-edge mobile platform software in a collaborative, test-driven environment. Develop prototypes for technology and UI evaluation purposes. Document system design, code, and platform API’s. Play an active role in the evolution of the platform. Develop deep expertise in multiple areas of Mobile technology.

REQUIREMENTS

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent). 2 – 3 years experience programming in Java and/or C++.. Experience developing on platforms like J2ME, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android or BREW. Good working knowledge of Web standards including XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, SVG. Experience with developing browsers and/or browser plug-ins a plus. Good grasp of efficient algorithms and data structures.

Job Description
The Software Engineer will design and architect sophisticated products for collecting and analyzing research data at Nielsen IAG. This position will also include trouble shooting and requirements gathering.  This position works in collaboration with our Production and Research departments, and other company stakeholders to deliver new products and product enhancements.
 
Responsibilities
-Develop, enhance, maintain, and document web-based, data-driven business applications
-Use Data Modeling, Design Patterns, and Object Oriented Concepts to build these applications
-Problem-solving and debugging/troubleshooting to provide effective solutions
-Work with and investigate Open Source software concepts and practices to create innovative solutions for our products
-Prepare documentation used in the planning and preparation stages of the application and the instructions for its use.
-Conduct appropriate development testing of applications to ensure quality

-Evidence of significant software design and problem-solving experience.
-Java EE Technology and JDBC
-Solid knowledge of Object Oriented Programming Methodologies
-Full-lifecycle Java application development experience
-Must have clear understanding of relational data design and modeling concepts.
-Experience with multi-tier systems

   • Exceptionally comfortable on a LAMP stack- including Apache, MySQL, and scripting within a Linux shell.
   • Passionate about helping people and exceptional attention to detail; excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
   • Desirable: 2+ years of professional experience as a LAMP Software Developer / Web Developer.

Although not necessary, candidates with some of the following experiences will have an advantage:
