Crowd Science is an early stage technology company changing the way that publishers and advertisers measure online audiences. We have a team of smart people – with room for one more.
We’re venture funded and based in Mountain View, California, near the Googleplex.
The area: Engineering
Crowd Science’s engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the Crowd Science Research Platform and the products that sit on top of it. Our projects include working on information-analysis and control system algorithms, massive scalability and storage solutions, and rich, interactive user interfaces.
We’re platform agnostic, but we have more Macs than PCs. We spend most of our time hacking Python and JavaScript using things like NumPy, Beautiful Soup, Prototype, and MySQL, but we’re more than happy to drop into C++ or roll our own persistence mechanism when the situation warrants.
Crowd Science engineers take part in all aspects of software development from design, programming, and debugging to deployment and optimization.
The role: Software Engineer
We’re looking for a software engineer who can help us design and build components of upcoming releases of our platform and the toolset that supports it, and help us optimize and scale as our user base grows. This position will partly focus on user-facing features, so a nose for clever user interfaces and comfort with HTML, JavaScript and CSS is absolutely required.
Requirements:
- Experience designing/developing large-scale internet software systems.
- Experience working with Python. Bonus points for Django.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- Deep familiarity and opinions on internet protocols and formats like HTTP, REST, JSON, and Atom.
