Hi-Tech Start-up Company in North San Diego has an immediate need for a full-time Web Engineer. The Web Engineer is responsible for supporting the CTO with the roll-out of our mobile platform suite of products. A strong background using complex database-driven web technologies to develop a potentially high-volume, large-scale website required. The right candidate must be a results-oriented individual who enjoys taking ownership of highly visible and complex projects. Ability to create reliable, testable, readable, scalable code that doesn’t break down under an aggressive product life cycle is critical.
Job Responsibilities:
• Architect, coordinate, develop, and deploy new Web applications / services, features, sites, and integration points to support company web and mobile strategy, objectives, and vision
• Administer and architect schemas for database and XML driven back-end technologies to support rich front-end user experiences and back-end database management
• Assist Web Production staff in coordinating cross-functional efforts from a technical perspective across internal and external resources
• Create and manage MySQL databases
Requirements:
• SOAP, SOAPY or ZSI web services for python, mod_python, PHP, MySQL, InnoDB and Java Script
• Excellent knowledge of python
• Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills through cooperative approaches
• Demonstrated project management experience with highly complex, multitask projects
• Ability to handle rapidly evolving user requirements
• Process-oriented thinking with aptitude for analyzing potential issues and implementing solutions
Qualifications:
• Experience writing dynamic and database driven web applications / services
• Self-starter that demonstrates initiative. Ability to work under general supervision and as a team.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to innovate, prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure to deliver projects on-time
