This is a full-time position for a .NET Application Developer. The successful candidate will be part of a team of Web application developers working with the latest state-of-the-art Microsoft technologies to develop and enhance our internal and external Web applications, provide Web-based application solutions for our customers, and provide support for those applications.
Responsibilities include creation and maintenance of Web-based applications with opportunity for mobile and Windows applications. The position will involve working with the latest .NET technology as well as upgrading legacy applications from .NET 1.1.
This is a telecommuting position in the Maryland Washington DC area. Periodic visits to an office location in Easton, MD will be required. Additional, but less frequent visits to our Rockville, MD and Columbia, MD office locations may be required.
Required Skills:
* C# development using Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft.NET 3.5
* MS SQL Server table and database design and query using T-SQL, views and stored procedures
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
* Expertise in current Internet standards, including Web browsers and compliance including Section 508 guidelines.
* Hands-on knowledge of current Web markup or scripting languages: HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Understanding of dynamic or active Web content and the use of classic ASP, ASP.NET, and SQL.
* Strong interpersonal and motivational skills as well as the requisite organizational and technical skills
Required Experience:
* At least 2 years experience in the development of custom multi-tiered Web applications including conceptual design, development, testing, documentation, and initial deployment
* Ability to demonstrate a history of success with an emphasis on achieving specific goals as well as delivering on deadline
* Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Desired Skills:
* Experience with projects within the federal government and federal emergency management agencies such as DHS or FEMA, or federal healthcare agencies
* Good user-interface and graphical design skills
* Experience developing ASP.NET Web Services and Mobile Web Applications
* XCode development
Required education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS is desirable
* MCSD, MCPD, MCSE or similar certification(s) desired
