At Clearwell, we take our job of developing quality, high-performance scalable vertical search solutions for the
e-Discovery market very seriously but have fun doing so. As part of the core development team, you will work
with architects, senior engineers, management and product managers to design new features for the market-leading
e-Discovery solution.
As a member of the Clearwell development team we expect you to be well-versed with computer science fundamentals
like algorithms and data structures as well as with programming best practices like writing comprehensive design documents
and unit tests.
All Clearwell development takes place in an agile environment modified to suit our unique needs. We believe in co-location
and the value of everyone being on-site to solve design issues and customer problems as they arise. The engineering organization
is very flat and we pride ourselves on being hands-on across the board.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and test features across the Clearwell product; enterprise system crawling/indexing, distributed search,
analytics, document review and data production and export
Work with cutting edge data crawling, search engine, information retrieval and database technologies
Work closely with architects and leads to take ownership of and help test, release and maintain the solutions you develop
Drive the full application development lifecycle – requirements analysis, design, coding, debugging and bug fixing
Work with customers, support, and QA to provide innovative customer solutions
Requirements:
2-10+ years of industry software development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with a strong academic record
Strong data analysis and data modeling skills
Ability to design scalable solutions for complex and large data volumes
Strong knowledge of networked application environment, including various client-server technologies
Familiarity with e-Discovery solutions, information management systems, document management systems,
archiving systems and backup/restore technologies is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong multi-tasking, multi-project skills
Deep knowledge of Java Programming using J2EE environment, with knowledge of JDBC
Deep understanding of OO design
Experience writing multi-threaded applications
Knowledge of working in an Eclipse environment highly desirable
Experience with performance tuning Java-based applications desirable
Strong knowledge of UML and design patterns is desirable
Knowledge of unstructured text analysis, information retrieval and search technologies also desirable.
Experience with profiling tools like JPROBE or JPROFILER desirable
