Experienced independent contractor to build java bindings to an existing C style library (about 70 APIs) and convert a C++ class library to java, along with 2 sample programs that utilize the java library bindings.
Prefer a candidate relatively local to the Portland area, but will consider others if necessary. The project requires a full-time short-term commitment, starting March 1st and lasting approximately 3 weeks. Compensation for contract work is on a fixed bid per project basis, with rate dependent on project requirements and candidates level of experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
mature working knowledge of C++ class libraries and object oriented programming concepts in general
expert java development skills using SUNs JDK, either on Linux or Windows
a reasonable understanding of the same working environment on the other operating system. (That is, if youre expert on Linux, you can also do builds and unit tests of the same code on Windows.)
a history of successful engagements where most/all work is performed in a telecommuting environment.
a commitment to turning in work on time and on budget.
