ABOUT THE ROLE:
SUMMARY:
We are seeking our 1st Principal Systems Engineer to join our founding team to support our customers during the sales cycle. You should be a Java whiz who excels at a customer-facing role facilitating the technical evaluation phase with our potential customers. This is a ground-floor opportunity with great rewards for a strong product advocate. The ideal candidate is great at demonstrating software, excellent hands-on-the-keyboard technical skills around the full Java/DB/OS stack, and generally skilled in moving a sales cycle from qualification to close.
This position will heavily leverage phone and web conferencing with our prospects. Travel will be minimal but you should be open to visiting customer sites from time to time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical pre-sales support activities in support of the company’s products sales. Perform product demos. Answer technical questions from potential customers Maintain and continually updating technical understanding of products. Assist Sales and customers in resolving pre-sales technical problems. Provide feedback to marketing and development on how products can be modified/designed to meet customers needs. Contribute to the knowledge base with information gathered in the sales cycle.
REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years experience with Java/J2EE technologies. 2+ years of proven success in a pre-sales/system engineering role. Excellent sales acumen, customer engagement, and project management skills. Prior start-up company experience is a must. Past success at working in a fast pace and collaborative environments.
